#bloggingonthego: Calling All Londoners!

There's a lot of buzz around town about the summer opening of James Knappett's new restaurant, Bubbledogs (he's worked with Gordon Ramsay, mind you). The hip new joint will offer gourmet hot dogs and Grower champagne, apart from an impressive variety of wines. Champagne starts from £6 per glass - mid-afternoon drinks anyone? I've got my eye on the BLT which features a hot dog wrapped in bacon, truffle mayonnaise and caramelized lettuce. Heaven in sausage form for any food lovers out there.

Fashion Goes Wild For Reptiles!

Snakes to be specific. If you've got an eye for the indulgent, you've probably heard of the silk Lanvin dress adorned with a Swarovski crystal snake. Far from the awkward cringe so often seen in holiday snaps of tourists holding a massive Boa or the overtly sexual image of a crop top clad Britney Spears mimicking the writhing motions of the snake draped around her shoulders, the designer number makes snake charming seem like the next 'It' hobby. If you're anything like the average civilian, reptiles may trigger an involuntary gag reflex but, when they're made of crystals, I think an exception can be made (all in the name of fashion, of course).

However, if the £4,594 price tag doesn't tickle your fancy, Mcberry.co.uk has released an almost identical version for less than 10% of the original price!

From Russia With Love.

Forget the beach. I want to go Moscow! The culture, the arts scene, the craft markets and the house music. I am dying for a heady dose of breathtaking architecture and an array of vodka cocktails. Of course, I couldn't resist buying a matryoska doll for my dresser! Let's not forget - a fabulous city calls for an equally as dazzling outfit. Here's what I'd be wearing in the Russian summer:

Is Zara Fueling an Addiction?

In my case, the answer is undoubtedly and irrefutably 'YES!' Zara is killing me at the moment with the vast array of gorgeous arm candy. From messengers to clutches, shoppers to hobo bags - I feel like I might just burst into a fashion forward edition of 'Favourite Things' from 'The Sound of Music'. I can't wait to get my hands on these babies!

Boxed Water is Better!

Every fashionista knows that it's always important to stay well hydrated whilst teetering between the racks at Selfridges or scouring vintage markets for hidden gems. That is, if you want to avoid fainting, dizziness and/or stiletto cramp.

Remember when it was super stylish to be seen with a bottle of Evian Water? Well, move over Evian, there's a new cool kid in town (possibly the coolest thing since pouring yoghurt - I know, it was major). Hello, Boxed Water. Drinking water from a box is far more sustainable, brill for the environment in comparison to plastic bottles and super innovative. Apart from that, Boxed Water fans will be flexing their philanthropic muscle as 10% of the proceeds go to world water relief foundations and another 10% goes to reforestation projects. Oh, hey there, charitable beverage! Of course, the packaging is recyclable and it even made an appearance at Coachella. Kind of makes me wonder if green is the new black(?)!

Unfortunately, Boxed Water isn't currently available in the UK but it is being sold in the US, so, if you live over there or are taking a trip, get in line now. Oh and send a case this way, please!

La Puissance de Gris

Today, I woke up suddenly at 3 o'clock in the morning and the first thing that popped into my mind was 'GREY NAIL POLISH'. Now, that's either a sign that I need a manicure REALLY badly or that my mind is working overtime on what trends to try next - both of which I believe to be true. The grey fingertips thing is pretty old on the scene but for some reason I am quite obviously strongly compelled to give it a go again. Grey finger nails scream chic, smart, in control and sleek all at the same time but how does one style them? Here's my take on the trend:

Fashion Hero: Diandra Forrest

Discovered on the busy streets of New York, Diandra Forrest is one of the most striking models I have ever come across. Her cheek bones are razor sharp, her pout could rival Angelina's and, at 5'11, she towers over many other models in the industry. Diandra is also an African American albino. Not only does it make her even more unique (although her regal beauty isn't solely an attribute of her albinism), it's a step towards breaking down the barriers of prejudice in fashion. Miss Forrest is just as beautiful, if not more, as any of the other slender human mannequins in the industry but, unfortunately, there is still a stigma attached to albinos in society today. Despite prejudice at the time, black models broke into the industry with the likes of Beverly Johnson, Naomi Campbell and Tyra Banks cementing their rightful place at the top with all the rest. So, why haven't we had more models like Diandra showing the world that albinism doesn't give society an excuse to alienate a whole group of people? Yes, the prejudice towards albinos runs in different degrees in different places but I'm still loving Elite Model Management for signing Diandra and I'm loving Diandra for working her stuff. Well, I think that's enough of the ethical ranting for one day. Time to add D.F. to my Fashion Wall of Fame.

#bloggingonthego: You're Such a Clever Clutch

I'm really feeling ASOS right now. This little wonder is not a book but a clutch bag masquerading as one. Your outfit can never be boring when you're working one of these and at, only £25, it's a steal. For the swotty fashionista in all of us!

H&M Goes Haute

Well, hello there, beautiful dress from H&M. In the event of a black tie 'do, this £199 stunner will make you the belle of the ball (excuse the cheese). I can't get enough of the princess ruffles and chic, simple neckline. Just avoid this one at weddings, you might upstage the bride.

Keeps Getting Better

As if my love for Louboutin wasn't already borderline obsessive, it has sky rocketed today. In celebration of 20 years making fantabulous shoes, Christian Louboutin has brought back his favourites to mark the anniversary. The red-soled beauties are staples in the fashion bible of the style savvy and are, in effect, living legends. Where would women the world be without the designer of the great, eponymous label? Well, here's a quick fact. In 1989, he took some times out to become a landscape designer, leaving the fast paced fashion world behind him. Thank goodness he made it back to fashtopia in 1992. The world of footwear could have been a very bleak place.

Yum. The spike necklace at Asos (£50) is the perfect accessory to ramp up the cool factor of your jeans and t-shirts combos. Add a pair of black ankle boots and you'll be scoring major fash points.

Celine Luggage Tote

My fondness for the Celine Luggage Tote has been apparent for quite a while but, in recent times, my yearning has increased ten fold. Fashionistas everywhere from Nicole Ritchie to Leighton Meester (and even Miley Cyrus) have been seen sporting the bag in an array of different colours. I'm dying to join the club but, with a price tag clocking in around the £1,000 region, I don't think it will be happening anytime soon. In the meantime, some pictures to dribble over.

Trends for Spring: Sports Luxe Sleek vs. Farm Girl Demure

Spring time is here and it's indisputably time to bring those bare arms and pins out of hibernation but what trend will you be sporting? The Sports Luxe trend is glamourous, suave and relaxed - giving fashionistas everywhere a cutting edge makeover. On the other hand, the Prairie look embraces everything romantic and sprightly about spring. This trend is for the free spirited style stalkers among us. Can't decide? Lipstick and Loudmouths puts them head to head to find a final verdict.

Romwe.

I have a newfound love for clothing site Romwe. I've been hearing about it all over the place and, when I finally went on the website last night, I found a pair of loafers that I just can't live without! I ordered them quicker than you can say 'pony hair studs' but you've got to be speedy if you want a pair because apparently there's only 2 left in stock.
When I first saw Christian Louboutin's Rolling Spikes Stud loafers, I fell head over heels. Soon after, I saw a copycat pair on Anoushka Proetta Brandon from Singaporean store The Quiet Riot and I knew I had to have them but they only had the red ones in my size. Now Romwe has stumbled along with the perfect colour and the perfect size and it's undoubtedly a match made in heaven! Can't wait for these to arrive on my doorstep.

P.s. Romwe's got a 20% off promo for newcomers so register now. You won't regret it!

Chiara Ferragni

Yesterday, I stumbled upon the capsule shoe collection by Chiara Ferragni of fashion blog The Blonde Salad. It's an understatement to say I fell in love. Not to be mistaken for champagne and birthday cake fueled infatuation, this is true fashion love. Her ombre stiletto heels are to die for and the studded hi-tops scream off duty chic. I think it's time to break the piggy bank.
